Launch of EPIC: a historic moment for VLYD

Friday 11 July marks a major milestone: after 4 years of hard work, EPIC has finally hit the water.

This project is not just the birth of a boat, it is the culmination of an extraordinary human and technical adventure.

For the first time, the VLYD team didn’t stop at the design stage: we donned the wetsuits, took the tools in hand, and actively participated in the entire construction process. From stratification to painting, including the installation of networks, we experienced every stage at the heart of the site.

Vincent, Jules, Thibault, Dominik, Nina: everyone pitched in. This immersion was a unique opportunity to test our plans against reality, refine our methods and strengthen our know-how.

EPIC is the result of demanding project management, meticulous coordination of subcontractors and, above all, a collective desire to push back the boundaries.

Today, we know that designing a boat is not just about drawing. It also means thinking about construction, anticipating the challenges of the yard, and integrating this reality from the very start of the project.
