Larelya 32'

Larelya 32′

The Larelya 32′ is a coastal cruising yacht designed by Vincent Lebailly Yacht Design for an amateur owner who wanted to build his own boat. Designed to sail on Lake Saint-Louis, near Montreal, it is primarily intended for day trips with family or friends and can comfortably accommodate between six and eight people.

Description of Larelya 32′

A small monohull inspired by catamaran ergonomics

The Larelya 32′ adopts a rare small monohull configuration, designed for sailors accustomed to catamarans. Wanting to maintain fluid movement and a feeling of freedom, the design team created an almost single-level layout, a real challenge on a 32-foot boat.

As a result, the Larelya 32′ is presented as a semi-monohull. A single small step separates the living areas, making it easier to move around and improving overall comfort. In addition, this careful ergonomics brings the experience closer to that of a multihull while retaining the sailing finesse of a monohull. Thanks to this approach, the boat clearly stands out as a unique vessel.

Two external helm stations for optimal visibility

To enhance visibility while sailing, the Larelya 32′ features two widely spaced external helm stations. This configuration limits blind spots, improves safety and offers direct control of the boat. Unlike the Isméria 45′, which has an interior helm, the Larelya 32′ encourages true open-air sailing.

In addition, the helmsman remains in constant contact with his surroundings. This allows for precise steering and increased comfort, especially during manoeuvres. As a result, sailing becomes smoother and more enjoyable.

A layout entirely focused on the outside

At the heart of the boat, the large cockpit organises life on board. It opens naturally onto the first interior level, where the galley, saloon and chart table are located. This continuity creates a lively, harmonious space that is particularly suited to summer sailing.

Below, the sleeping area comprises a comfortable cabin and a toilet. What’s more, the bright and easy-going layout enhances the conviviality. Thanks to this open design, the Larelya 32′ offers a warm and decidedly outward-looking atmosphere.

An accessible and high-performance wooden construction

The Larelya 32′ is largely constructed from wood, a choice that gives it a strong identity. The hull bottom uses the strip-planking technique: wooden slats are assembled and then laminated. The other elements combine marine plywood and laminated foam sandwich panels.

As a result, the boat is lighter, more rigid and easier to build. This approach benefits both amateur builders and professional shipyards. The Larelya 32′ can therefore be adapted to a variety of projects while retaining its unique character.

Electric propulsion with hydrogeneration

The Larelya 32′ features fully electric propulsion powered by two shaft motors. This choice allows the boat to sail in remarkable silence and reduces its environmental impact. In addition, the system recovers energy under sail thanks to hydrogeneration.
This function recharges the batteries while sailing, extending the range and limiting dependence on external sources. The Larelya 32′ thus offers a modern, clean experience that is perfectly suited to everyday use.
