MADIBA 56′

The Madiba56′ is a blue water sailing yacht ‘to live in’.

Designed for an owner with specific requirements, who wanted a unique boat, a consensus between several achievements of the current market, this 17m ketch combines an original cockpit, a protected wheelhouse for demanding latitudes, and a two-level interior (living area upstairs, sleeping areas downstairs).

Description of MADIBA 56′

Madiba56′ is a ketch-rigged ocean-going yacht designed and built for sailing in extreme latitudes (far North and far South).

A rigid exterior wheelhouse protects the entrance of the boat. This space can be closed on the sides as well as on the stern.

At the rear of the cockpit, an elevated helm station with its own seat positioned between the feet of the aft hoop, overlooks a warm cockpit where convivial spaces are integrated: large aft saloon (convertible into a sunbathing area) / outside galley / small intimist outside saloon.

Inside, the boat is divided into two large areas. Only two steps down from the cockpit, a large common area gathers the galley, wardrobe, saloon and chart table. Towards the front, at the foot of a staircase, two comfortable cabins, a captain’s office and a private shower room share the space. Aft, a second staircase leads to a crew (or guest) cabin with its own shower room, which also serves as a laundry room.

The interior (as well as the deck / cockpit) is equipped with multiple storage spaces and tends to optimise the storage volumes of this long distance cruiser. In the saloon, the table is convertible to create an additional double berth.

The boat is equipped with twin engines, a tilting centreboard and two suspended rudders. This allows a very shallow draft to slip into small, inaccessible anchorages.
