ONARIUS 52′

The concept of the Onarius is to break the brutal interface between exterior cockpit and interior cocoon.

Similarly to  the ergonomics of catamarans, the cockpit becomes a continuity of the interior volumes.

On the Onarius, we have reversed the cockpit and superstructure to permit an exceptional visibility from the helm towards the front part of the boat and to simplify the interior/exterior linkage.

Description of ONARIUS 52′

The Onarius project is an ‘in-house’ product, an architectural reflection on life on board our yachts, priorities in navigation!

The boat was designed in order to introduce a real living area in the heart of the yacht, limiting the number of steps, and facilitating circulation at anchor and during sailing…

The Onarius52′ has been designed to offer a completely new ergonomic concept, a new way of circulating within a sailing boat, inspired by the caravels of pastyears.

The Onarius52 is a custom-built aluminium sailboat built by an amateur boilermaker: see the builder’s blog.

The 1st Onarius52 unit was built in central France. The all-aluminium boat is a dinghy that will be used mainly in Polynesian waters.

The boat’s aft superstructure houses the saloon, galley and chart table, as well as the owner’s cabin and en suite shower room. Separated by a generous cockpit that is entirely on one level, the forward area features two double cabins and a washroom.

The cockpit can be protected by an awning to keep out the spray.
