RASTA 40′

The RASTA 40′ is a yacht we designed in partnership with the famous monthly magazine “Voiles Magazine“.

During the lockdown of spring 2020, the journalists of the magazine contacted us because they wanted to offer their readers a little escape. This periode standed when sailing was forbidden to all of us.

As it was impossible to try out a “real” sailing boat, they asked us to imagine one, to make a virtual “100 miles on board”, which they wrote on the basis of our design!

Description of RASTA 40′

The RASTA40′ is a schooner composite unit. The boat has a nice steering wheel that can be swung from side to side, two large bench seats and a table hidden in the cockpit floor when not in use.

Inside the boat, the chart table is easily accessible from the entrance along the single step companionway and the mainmast post. A galley and a large saloon enhance the living space. The boat as presented is equipped with an aft guest cabin and a very large owner’s cabin, positioned forward and opening onto a hold/workshop.

On the starboard aft side, there is a washroom along the companionway.

The great innovation of this concept is that the Rasta40′ has two swing daggerboards, which ensure a stable and secure grounding and allows the leeward appendage to be lowered  for optimal performance.

At stern, the rear gantry conceals a rear trampoline, ideal for sunbathing at anchor!

RASTA40′ publications have generated lots of reactions, so much so that the magazine then asked us for a V2, integrating comments and expectations of several passionate readers: A successful bet!
